The way you express and receive love can be placed under 5 categories.
Your love language probably won't be the same as the person who's receiving it, so it's important to understand that expressions of love can be different, and that certain things will be appreciated differently and preferred by different people.
So what are the 5 different types?
You love when someone is constantly wanting to hang out with you, and spend time with you. You really like full presence, eye contact and 100% focus and having meaningful conversations.
WORDS OF AFFIRMATION
You value verbal acknowledgment, compliments and encouragement. You love frequent 'I love you's, texts and social media interaction.
You value visual reminders of love. The time and thought spent on getting a gift, thinking about what the actual gift will be and the joy of receiving what that gift has to offer all makes you feel super appreciated. A gift reflects your partner listening and understanding you.
ACTS OF SERVICE
You love it when your partner does something for you that they didn't need to. Like making your favourite coffee for when you wake up, or taking your car to the mechanic while you're working. You feel like actions speak louder than words.
You really love and need physical affection. The intimacy and touch of hugs, cuddles, kisses and sex are deeply affirming and connective for people with this language.
Learning you and your loved ones different love languages is a huge step to them feeling your love that little bit more, and you feeling a little bit more loved.
